Brethren

We are now well into June and it just seems like yesterday since I was installed as RWM

on 4/12/09. I hope you are all enjoying the summer break and come back on the 2/9/10 to witness Lodge Oatlands  No 1005 confer the MMD on one of our FCs Lodge Oatlands has a special place in my heart and it will be great to see them back in 1042 again.

As I said I hope you are all enjoying the break, but 2 Brethren deserve special thanks

Brother Ian Ritchie and Brother George C Cassidy WJW are busy just now re-fitting our kitchen a big job that needs done I would like to thank these 2 brethren personally for all their efforts

Congratulations are due to Brothers Ian Ritchie and James E Orr (DOM) for taking there first steps in "Red Freemasonry"

There have been more highs than lows in the first half of my year

1) Three young men have joined our Lodge and perhaps in time they will bring in some candidates and maybe take an office (2 have still to receive their MMD)

2) Travelling down to Dumfries on 19/3/10 and conferring the MMD

3) Conferring the MMD at Lodge 156 16/3/10

4) Travelling down to London 7/5/10 and doing an exemplification of the MMD at the Childs Hill Lodge (E/C) ON 8/5/10 . The collection at that meeting (£200)  was recently presented to the Clippens School in Linwood for children with special needs

A great weekend was had by one and all and we all arrived back on the 9/5/10 after having travelled a " somewhat rough and rugged road "

5) Our joint Divine Service with Lodge 242 on 2/5/10

6) Our quiz night 29/4/10 at which £800 was raised for the family on the late Brother David Cassidy PM

7) Travel club dinner 23/4/10 Thanks to our speaker Brother David Cuthbert PM 426

8) Lecture by Brother N.G. Mcleod PM SEC. 242

9) Lodge Dinner 4/6/10 Thanks to our speaker Brother Archie Chalmers RWPGM of Ayrshire Our own PGM Brother David A Reid was also present

10) Conferring Honorary Membership on Brother George Bell PM 1116 and

Brother Ian C Walker PM 53 on the 16/4/10

If I have missed anything out I apologies

All the above events were very enjoyable, but in some cases the attendances were a wee bit disappointing, so please try and support the Lodge and the social club whenever you can

The next big event is the Sportsman's dinner 22/10/10
